The best of both worlds!

Access Wineglass Bay by boat and then explore Freycinet National Park on foot; This entertaining and informative tour from Hobart to Wineglass Bay offers maximum beach time (2+ hrs) and saves you hiking up hills.

Our Wineglass Bay tour departs from Hobart, heading east then following the Great Eastern Drive north. We’ll travel through the seaside towns of Orford, Triabunna and Swansea as we make our way along the East Coast of Tasmania towards the Freycinet National Park. We’ll stop briefly along the way to take in some of the local highlights such as Raspins Beach (Orford), and The Bark Mill (Swansea).
When we arrive at Coles Bay, you will board the Freycinet Adventures Aqua Taxi and enjoy an awe-inspiring cruise from Coles Bay to Hazards Beach. On the way, you’ll be amazed by the spectacular red granite shoreline and the incredible wildlife that call it their home. A large variety of sea birds reside in the area including White bellied sea eagles, the icon of Freycinet National Park. Be sure to have your cameras ready as you are also likely to share the sea with Australian Fur Seals, inquisitive local dolphins and maybe even a whale or two!
The skipper of the Aqua Taxi will assist you to disembark directly onto the pristine white sands of Hazards Beach, which might require you to get your feet wet, but once you see the the crystal clear blue waters of the beach, you won’t have any hesitation in wanting to get your feet into it! You’ll then be free for the next 2.5hrs to explore Hazards Beach, Wineglass Bay (30 min walk) and Freycinet National Park. At 2:30pm you will meet the Aqua Taxi on Hazards Beach and enjoy another incredible bvoat ride back to Coles Bay.
You will have approximately 30mins to explore the town of Coles Bay, grab yourself a snack or refreshment from the amazing local cafes and stores. We recommend the Tasmanian made ice-creams from the Coles Bay Ice-Creamery! Your tour guide will meet you in Coles Bay again to make our way back to Hobart. The drive home is usually spent sharing our experiences and tales with each other and celebrating our amazing day out. We’ll get you back at your accommodation around 6:30-7:00pm.

  • 5 star ratingIt's a good trip with knowledgeable guide. He also created bonding amongst the group and keep all posted of options. Weather was good and timing plans for pick up, short rest stops and return timings were punctual and excellent. Break stops were good choices. Views of Wineglass Bay were excellent and worth the long ride there.

  • 5 star ratingWe loved this tour, Jack was an excellent tour guide, we also enjoyed getting to know some interesting local knowledge! We chose to do the main walk to Wineglass Bay Lookout, and the 2 shorter walks. Such amazing views and the walks weren’t too challenging! Highly recommend if you’ve got a spare day while in Hobart

5 star ratingMy tour guide was Phil and he was lovely. We were picked up right on time outside our accommodation, picked others up, then were on our way! There was an informative DVD first off along the way (I may have fallen asleep part-way through that because car/bus rides put me to sleep...). We stopped off at a few places (bakery, Coles Bay) but on the way there we received the information that Freycinet National Park would be closing early that day due to the threat of bushfires. Phil didn't bat an eyelid, he simply readjusted our plans so we would still do all that we wanted to do, just with a slightly different time frame. We had lunch up at the lookout (instead of at Coles Bay which was the original plan) and then the group split, me to go down to the beach, the others and Phil to go exploring other parts of Freycinet National Park. The walk down to the beach was tiring but worth it (actually the walk up was a lot more tiring but oh well). The beach was clean and not super crowded. Waves were not too cold but super strong. View both from the lookout and from the beach was breathtaking. Phil also gave me a phone to make sure there was a way of contacting him (seeing as my phone had no reception). Meeting up with the rest of the group was uneventful,... My tour guide was Phil and he was lovely. We were picked up right on time outside our accommodation, picked others up, then were on our way! Meeting up with the rest of the group was uneventful, time and place was clearly said and he gave me pretty accurate instructions to ensure that the timing was perfect. Ride home was also good, stopped by Friendly Beaches along the way, as well as somewhere to get icecream. Had a mini pop quiz which was fun. All in all an excellent day with an awesome guide. Thanks Phil! More
